If you are thinking of giving a puppy as a present, be it for Christmas or for a Birthday....DONT!

Puppies are a LOT of responsibility and the decision to add one to the family should NOT be taken lightly. You should NEVER surprise someone with a puppy. What if that person is not ready or willing to take on the responsibility. Sure puppies are cute and fun, but a lot of work goes into that little fluffy ball of energy. More often than not, puppies that have been given as a surprise gift end up going to shelters when the people realize how much work a puppy is and that they were not ready for the responsibility of the puppy.

We put a lot of love, time, and money into our puppies and we want them to go to forever loving homes where they are cherished. Not somewhere that they will be forgotten once the excitement of the moment has worn off. We require that the owners of our puppies know that they are getting a puppy and agree to take on this precious little life for the life time of the puppy.

If after careful consideration by ALL family members, you still want a puppy. We would be glad to hold the puppy until after the suspense of the birthday, Christmas, or special occasion has settled down and you can dedicate time to the new family member. We would be glad to provide you with a picture and nice certificate to place under your Christmas tree or to wrap and give for a birthday. This way the puppy does not get lost in the hustle and bustle of the time and can come home when you are ready and willing to settle in the new family member.
